Top 10 UK car crime hotspots revealed

Manchester is the city where you’re most likely to become a victim of car crime, according to new research.

Using data obtained through Freedom of Information (FOI) requests from towns and cities across the UK, car finance company ChooseMyCar has revealed the highest and lowest car crime areas.

Cities/towns with the lowest car crimes are Luton, Plymouth and Belfast. In fact, just 395 car crimes took place in 12 months in Luton – 10 times less than hotspot cities such as Liverpool and Bristol.

Birmingham has the most overall car crimes in the whole of the UK with 14,758 combined offences. However, when compared in relation to the number of vehicles on the road in each area, the highest rate of offences was in Manchester with 50.66 crimes per 1,000 vehicles.
