googdomains-250x180Whenever it’s the matter of buying domain name, what are the names of the sites that pop up in your mind first? GoDaddy? NameCheap? But what if I say Google? Yes Google, you heard it right because Google has announced its new service of Domain registration. It’s still in a beta version for now which is pertinently named as “Google Domains”.

This Google Domains works exactly as your other domain providers do. It helps your buy and manages domain names. Moreover, it also helps to build your site, set up email addresses and manage hosting.

These days, buying and managing domain registrations and hosting are being very painful for many people. Even the named companies get us in trouble that’s why Google with the aim of fixing all the troubles, came up with a seamless new service to let you find, purchase and manage your domains.

Here are few of the features disclosed so far with Google Domains.

  • It lets you have free private registration that allows you to mask your name, addresses etc directly from Whois searches. You do not need to pay a third party service in between.
  • You can freely forward your company email (such as [email protected]) to your personal Gmail inbox.
  • It supports up to 100 sub domains.
  • You’ll get 100 email addresses.
  • Your domain forwarding is free of cost.
  • Google Domains has a plan to support almost all the new domains endings that will roll out over the next year such as .club, .guru and many more.
  • All the visitors will be routed through Google’s own DNS system so the connections will be fast and dependable. Hence you can run an entire website without leaving a Google ecosystem.

Sounds great right? Though the Google Domains are only beta right now but let’s hope it to be cheaper and easier in comparison to other domains. In order to support your website for your new domains, Google has partnered with companies like Squarespace, Weebly, Wix.com and Shopify.

It’s obvious that Google is a dominion and monopolistic. It’s a super hero which has control over the Internet at most. But will Google be able to take control over this Domain registration field as well? The new ideas of Google Domain sounds cool but let’s see if it could actually make it up to level of other named domain registration websites. So what do you say? Would you like to try this new domain called Google Domains? Do you think you are risking yourself with this new Google Domains?
